Overview

Our ThirdLaunch program is designed for professionals in their late 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond who are at that crossroads when the work role is shifting in importance and the road ahead is not yet mapped out. It is a program for those who want to look at the chapters ahead and plan for a new way of being in the later years.

This program will help you focus your passion and purpose for this stage in life, and then create some bold new experiments for the chapters ahead. Once you've tried out your plans, you will land on the synergy that uncovers your deepest passions at this time in your life.

What's Next and What's New?

Even the term "retirement" seems to be ill-suited for today's new landscape of the 60's, 70's and beyond. Those of us approaching these years are unlikely to head to the Sunbelt for endless days of golf and martinis! And while we aren't likely to dream of the sort of retirement we watched our parents live out, few of us have maps for how we want to proceed through these years. What's new is that we are living longer with healthier lifestyles and more options than ever before.

Take a look at these shifts:

  • We are living longer than ever with mostly good health.
  • We have saved less than past generations at a time when it takes more money to sustain our preferred lifestyles and this means many of us will continue some form of work well beyond traditional retirement.
  • Those of us turning sixty today are, by nature, more optimistic and we expect more.
  • Workforce dynamics create some interesting convergences for us with shrinking numbers spelling new possibilities for all sorts of part-time work options that haven't existed in the past.
  • People entering their sixties are the largest group within the total US population. 
  • Look around at the ads, the magazines, and you'll notice whole industries serving the "graying of America".
  • We are looking for renewed passion and purpose that includes making a difference in our later years.
  • Quite simply put, we are pioneering a new stage of life filled with ample challenges and opportunities for a rich new chapter.

Learning Process

The ThirdLaunch Program is a three month program combining an onsite session with follow-on coaching in both individual and group formats. The onsite intensive program integrates four days of dynamic coaching groups with topical presentations, exercises and tools to guide you into the chapter ahead. The approach, well grounded in the concepts of adult development and human systems theories, leads to deep and lasting change.

Program Highlights

  • A three month program including an onsite four-day seminar experience and individual and group coaching focused on launching a new chapter in the later years
  • Four full days onsite at an intimate beachside hotel in Santa Barbara, CA
  • A personalized approach with a group limited in size to 24 participants
  • A pre-assessment package including the Personal Directions Inventory® and the ThirdLaunch Life Review
  • Three seasoned mentor coach leaders in the onsite session along with Health and Wellness resources and an afternoon 'Guest Expert'
  • Three months of follow-on coaching including a monthly individual session and a monthly group session -- both focused on bringing clarity and action to the plans created in the onsite program
  • A detailed plan for the chapter ahead with action steps and goals for moving forward
